Dyke Alike is an exclusively FLINTA party based in nyc where all forms of physical expression are encouraged.
FLINTA is a silly sounding German acronym. Translated to English, FLINTA means "woman, lesbian, intersex, nonbinary, trans, agender". Ultimately, Dyke Alike is FLINTA because cisgender men are NOT allowed to attend our events. All cisgender men that attempt to come to Dyke Alike will be turned away at the door.
Sometimes we throw parties in the clubs. Those parties are called Club Dyke. Same vibes, but limited to the scopes and scales of the clubs we reside in for the night.
We are here for each other. AS ALWAYS, we have a zero tolerance policy for harassment, unwanted touch, homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, or other forms of discriminatory behavior. Those enacting these behaviors will be kicked out of the space and banned from attending all future events.
Consent is mandatory at each and every Dyke Alike event. Always ask before touching anyone. Consent REQUIRES an explicit, enthusiastic, and verbal YES within our space.
NO MEANS NO. Discomforted body language means no. Silence means no. Any response that is not an enthusiastic YES means NO.
Regardless of your personal tolerance level for physical touch, there are other people at the event whose night may be ruined by unwanted touch.
We create our communal safety together ~ please, immediately speak to a Safer Space Monitor if you witness or experience any form of consent violation. Safer Space Monitors will be wearing pink glowing wristbands and are present for this exact purpose.
No phones on the dancefloor, and no phones in the darkrooms. These spaces are designed to allow for immersion and expression. Phones get in the way of these states of being for many people. Dyke Alike allows for all states of dress / undress, therefore, explicit consent is required before you take a photo of someone. No photos are allowed to be taken on any dancefloor or in any darkroom.
As women, trans people, and in between gender freaks, we have struggled to find rave spaces and club spaces that center us. By explicitly barring cisgender men from attending our events, we aim to create ecstatic experiences within our communities that are we are often denied. We build our own futures, together. <3
